Recently, I came upon those special days
Music shone through like were it golden rays
Hope and peace \u2013 it was all around
No fear, no anger, only love was found<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magic and freedom grew wild our minds
Dreams of the future we dared to find
Those were the fields of \u201969, so green
The world would change \u2013 it would soon be seen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surely, surely \u2013 we just need some more time\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green the meadows, hearts of red
Grace and love in every musical set
And the only colours that we cared about
Were the colour of our hearts and the rainy clouds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surely, surely \u2013 everybody will soon find out\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get back to the days of hope we shared
With the dreams of love, that we all dared
Get back to the future that we once had
The magic powers – we so need them back<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My heart is now weary, my hair turned grey
My spirits all seem to have faded away
Before me lies the future spent
And wherever I look, I can\u2019t see its end<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cause where we’re going, nobody knows
The dawn is grey and the cold wind blows
And it seems now that everybody\u2019s changed
The magic season is out of our range<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And hearts are no longer red and warm
And spirits are broken and minds are torn
And over the counter I can see your gun

Before us lie our broken hearts
Leaking with wasted love it starts<\/p>\n\n\n\n
