Gone the grass

Gone the grass, has turned to hay
Green so lush, has turned to gray
Withered through the autumn storms
Bent and broken, weak and worn

Weeping willow, branches low
Easy now, the river flows
Autumn came and went that day
When the grass did turn so gray

That day so passed
And here I stand
In search for time
That slipped my hand
Where did it go
I did not see
Is that what life was meant to be?

A passing day
It quickly went
And hours numbered
Were all spent

So green and lovely were your spring
When larks so happy came to sing
And summer came
And you stood high
And shelter gave for deer to hide

But now I look to withered grass
The sign that summer did now pass
I gently touch the fragile straw
That rain and wind so harshly tore

May you now rest in peace, I say
While winter snow will deck you hay
And slowly then
You’ll fade away

And yet, with time, when you’re all gone
And winter cold gives way to sun
And spring returns with carefree days
My mind so awkwardly, it strays

While I rejoice in new grown green
The withered hay’s no longer seen
I carry with me every day
The years that passed when grass turned hay

Det er altså bare fantastisk at høre sine sangtekster med musik og vokal. Jørgen har hjulpet med via AI at sætte vokal og musik til endnu en af mine sangtekster “Svalerne kom”. Jeg er så glad for at høre den sunget. Håber I også vil kunne lide den. Lydfil og sangtekst nedenfor.

Svalerne kom

Jeg stod her ved døren, så bleg og så trist
Den morgen, hvor hjertet var lige ved at brist’
Så tung var den himmel, så grå og fortabt
Så meningsløst livet, jeg ænsed’ det knapt
At vinteren var ovre, var uden værdi
For noget var i stykker, i mig, indeni.

Så var det jeg pludselig, så deres flugt
Ustyrligt, med kvidrende latter, så smukt
De blåsorte vinger strøg hurtigt forbi
Som var de blot tanker, så lette, så fri’
En plet og en pande med rustenrødt skær
Og blåt var det halsbånd, så lange, de fjer.

Betaget jeg stod der, og kiggede på
De flyve atleter, så smukke og små
Med overmod, og, med glæde og sang
De bragte mig forår, i skov og i vang
Og pludselig, syntes, himlen ej grå
der kom nogle sprækker, i lysende, blå.

Og lindetræet, det folded’ sig ud
Med små grønne hjerter i blade og skud
Og under asken, stod vorterod gul
Som pletter af sol, der var hentet i skjul
Fra stendiget lød der, en summende lyd
En humlebi pusled’, og brummed’, af fryd.

Så kom de, de svaler, fra syden de fløj
Den tur var så lang, og må ha’ vær’t drøj
Nu dansed’ de her, på himlen hos mig
Og ledte de tungeste tanker på vej
Mod lysere dage, mod håb og mod gnist
Et træt gammelt hjerte, fik endnu, en frist.

Han kommer imod mig, med spørgende blik
Den tossede kvinde, som han engang fik
Han trykker mig ind mod sin søvnige krop
Og kigger mod lindens, lysgrønne top
Så ser han de svaler, og sammen vi står
Og glæder os begge, at, nu, er det vår.

For vinterens storm, var så kold og så hård
Så trætte, nu, efter mørket, vi står
Men håbet, det vokser, med svalernes flugt
De suser forbi, og alt bliver så smukt
Måske kan vi, også flyve, igen
Og sammen, finde, modet, min ven.

Så kom da den sommer, jeg troede var væk
Og mørket blev stuvet i glemselens sæk
De kæreste venner, kom hjem her til mig
Og med sig de små, bragte glæde og leg
Så bliv nu lidt hos mig, gør sommeren fri
I dejlige svaler, jeg bliver glad, indeni.
